Wink I gotta make a move, Help me find a Turbo

Well, It's about that time. I have some question's for my 6 speed co-members

1st off, What do you think I can get for my 996?
It's a 2001 996 Aerokit car. Seal Grey, Full leather, and really clean. The problem is I have REALLY enjoyed it and I now have 49k to proove it. I figured around 45-50k????

Secondly, I was going to wait and get a 997 Turbo, or a AMV8 Vantage, But it looks like both car's are far away from being released. A Turbo seem's to be the way to go. With my business coming up I will have to shell out alot of cash, so I want to keep it between 85 - 90k What can I get for this price range?

I would prefer: Seal Grey, Silver, or White. Sport Seats, 6 Speed, and Full Leather are a must. Anyone found any good deals lately?

You're in the range of a certified 2001 996TT. There are some good Porsche dealerships in FL you can search out. Good luck.

Thank's guys, I am a bit of a heat score, so I had better stick with the more subtle colors. Polar, Seal Arctic, Slate, Basalt. All ok with me.

Shank, What does lou's Turbo look like? Got a pic?
Sorry we couldn't meet when you were down in Miami.
Maybe next time?

Shawn,

My turbo is a 2003 and will be more expensive than the $85k-$90k price range. However, if financing, the higher residual and warranty may be what you are looking for. Here are some pics:

****sorry for those of you who have seen these pics 10,000 times

Why not a slightly used GT3 for a touch more?

It's a MUCH better performance car than the Turbo! It's handling is light years ahead of the 996TT, I don't care if you put PSS-9's or not.

Correct, depending upon options. Usually full leather, Xenons, AC, no-pccb brakes come in at $106 msrp, for the standard colors...

There is one on Ebay very low miles under 100K.

Well I can toss .02 in here. I was searching long and hard for a TT. 85k to 90k puts you right in the 01 and 02 range. I found several 01's at 77k.

I just bought a 02 C4S with 7k on the ticker for 69. I got 40k for my 99 C2 aero kit with 27k miles car on trade. You should be able to get high 40's for your car I would assume.

Use Autotrader and Ebay to feel out the cars. I have bought many cars from Ebay and as long as you do your research there is a high probability you will get a good car.

Tyson,
Can you explain MUCH better performance. Perhaps in canyon carving but, all around for most people the TT is far superior. It is quicker to 60 100, 1/4 mile etc. It also can be modded very easily. The GT3 also did the nurbergring in 7:54, the 911 turbo 7:56. I don't see how a GT3 that makes all its power WAY up in the rev range is any match for a turbo. Perhaps if like yourself and your group you consistently go to the track and have those great canyon roads, but, for the majority I would have to say the TT is the way to go.
