Hemi Kill!!
Hemi Kill!!
I know it is not a fair fight but when a guy comes racing up behind you in Mexico asking for it you have to give him what he wants!
It was a blacked out Dodge Charger Hemi not sure what mods but he had an aftermarket hood with a big scoop that said Hemi on each side, different wheels, exhaust, tint and California plates.
He passes me and we run into traffic, once it clears he stands on it I am in third. I reel him in, grab fourth and pass him like he is standing still. Next light he rolls down passenger window and gives me the thumbs up. I roll down my window and say nice car which it was.
All blacked out in Hemi form with some mods they are pretty nice new American muscle.
I wish something stronger would come my way but no dice yet!

At a recent track day at Road Atlanta they broke the cars into two groups - 1 - true modern sports cars and 2 - older muscle cars and all of the other modern cars that aren't sports cars. A guy in a new Hemi Charger was highly offended that they didn't consider his car a sports car and was making a big scene.
Regardless, good kill and way to represent!

I had a similar kill recently in my GLHS against a Dodge Magnum SRT8. The guy cruised by me pretty quick so I tucked in behind him and stuck to his bumper. We were rolling about 80 when the dude finally saw me in his rear view and nailed it. He jumped me a bit so I didn't go around him, but it was nearly a dead heat until we caught some traffic at about 110mph. We feverishly worked through the traffic and we both hammered it again. This time we were rolling about 65 and I was able to get down into 4th before he jumped. It was still pretty even, but my little GLHS was able to come around him and get about a 1/2 car length on him to 110 again.
I'm certain it left a bad taste in his mouth by the look on his face as he realized what kind of sh*tbox just handed him his lunch. At least he can rejoice about it being another Mopar

I don't know what it is about these guys that have that "HEMI" under them... I thought it was just Austin and Texas in general
As my friend told me recently "WTF it must be the TV adds. They don't have a clue."
I've had a few HEMI pick ups run right up on my butt, traffic or not.

The new date you selected for the Texas Jam 07' will be Saturday, August 18th. We will also leave September 1st as a back up date in case of rain again.
What: the Texas Jam 07' is an automotive power competition. How does it work? Simple, 5 cars from the Dallas/Fort Worth area and 5 cars from Houston battle it out on the dyno. Highest cumulative power wins the competition, trophies, bragging rights until next year, and honors in Turbo Magazine. This year we have one slot reserved on the DFW dyno roster for Austin. The primary sponsor for the event is Dynosaur Performance, who is letting all of the contenders spin their cars for F-R-E-E. In addition, Dynosaur Performance has reconfigured their dyno to read 1,500rwhp just for this event. You can expect to see a wide diversity of cars contending for their hometowns ranging from Vipers, Corvettes, Camaros, Supras, and cars with wicked motor swaps. Last years event brought out a HUGE crowd and landed us a 4 page spread in a national magazine, Turbo Magazine. This years event will be even bigger. This is the only event of its kind so make sure to come out and support your hometown heros. Pill up, boost up, and get ready for a gross display of power at the Texas Jam 07' Power Competition.
When: Saturday August 18th, 2007. Competition starts at 3pm.
Cost: F-R-E-E dyno pulls. Your only cost will be food and accommodation.
Where: Dynosaur Performance. 4551 West Bailey Boswell Road. Fort Worth, Texas 76179. 817 614 3740.
Who: EVERYONE come on out and support your city.
Houston forum members, we caravan from Houston Saturday morning. Check the caravan thread for more details.Sign up for the Roll Call Here.

My buddys twin turbo viper. 25psi and only pulled to 6k rpm. No need to turn it up as he doesn't have any where near a hold on the power now.
Garths car has done about the same as well. These things will do 1200rw on 93 pump gas.
This 1500hp dyno, did they build/install any type of strap down tension system for the rear end? No point in even hooking it up if the car will blow the tires off at anything over 1200rw.
They sure are a handful on the street even with DR's... I can't wait to slap some slicks/skinnies on, set one on kill mode and do some highway pulls.
