Talking WOODSTER's 60-130 mph Runs yesterday:

All this dyno talk is wearing me out...theoretical horspower this,
super duper crankshaft that . Yawn...

Here are the facts: AX-22 GPS device

0) Mexican country roads
1) mid eighty degree temps, humid, sunny
2) MS 103 gas (99 octane unleaded)
3) High boost @ 1.4 bar peak, 1.35 sustained.
4) full weight 996TT with autopower cage, spare tire, tool kit, all sorts of tools, extra brake pads, rags, helmet and other crap in trunk from Road America track day recently, cell phone, radar detector a wallet full of ones and a CD changer full of music.
5)My weight 185 lbs. exactly
6)developed boost leak on last run or maybe after run since I ran it up to
155 mph or so. (car limped home with black rich smoke following me, see other thread titled: Met up with the Woodster)

Results:
62-124 mph == 5.8 seconds (one shift)
60-130 mph == 6.74 seconds (one shift)
this has been verified by Jean and sent to Scott for approval and his
notes were that I had lag or wheel spin on the 6.74 run.

Big Joe Renntechv12 GT2 GT700 is faster as well as Chinotowest
and and DMKaboom. I have no excuses, but this will be improved.
I can tell you for a fact that those GT700's are very quick!

MK

Impressive times Marty the good news is you can take out Carrera GT's and Enzo's! Now that is sweet!

Congrats!

Buddy,

Once you are "here" (at this level of power in such a capable all around package that goes fast, turns well and stops on a dime), you think what
the heck was I doing with those little k-16's on my car! LOL.

Good fun

Congrats Marty, keep up the good work. Pretty soon you will be right up there with the GT700's on a better day.

BTW, what does my crankshaft have to do with your thread? Do not even try to tell me you are not referring to me. Cheers, Kevin

Thumbs up

Kevin, (highjacking my own thread)

In a intelligent, educational way, you have been explaining the benefits
of the GT3RS Crankshaft for months. You are not intending to
make others with stock cranks feel inferior (Any High horsepower car/package that does not have an upgraded crank in it),but it sometimes comes across that way. It was a small sarcastic jab like your GT700 comment above^^. No harm intended just a little ribbing. .

Sort of like you talking about your "full heat soak" dyno numbers and superior intercoolers... Of course you are not trying to jab at people who do not have "full heat soak" numbers on a DynaPack or custom intercoolers and trying to make them feel inferior. You're just trying to educate the masses I suppose. If I choose to put a GT3 R crank or ..Gasp... a GT3 oilpump in my engine it is my choice since it is my money. These cars come down to a tuning philosophy, pick one and stick with it. You did and so did I. Good luck with the GT700's No harm taken...

KPG,

I think if I stick with the "Protomotive Tuning Philosophy", I should be OK.
The other Protomotive cars seem to run fairly well from what I have seen,
even with the prehistoric crankshaft.

Cheers and no more theory allowed on this thread, just proven numbers
on the old asphalt dyno as you guys call it.

I dont know how the cranks got involved but you guys stop it.
Marty, I told you the other day, never underestimate ur opponent.
If you are not 100% do not race and give people car lenghts... You admitted you were on low boost... Unfortunatley you thought the other guy had a stock GT2.
I still would like to see your shifts on the graph.
BTW, at what MPH did you start the 60 to 130?
Markski
