I think he is talking about the 06/07 Z06 which are beast from the factory. They have already been 10s bonestock. 550rwhp with just a cam is pretty easy and for $4000 you can't beat it. My brother has a C5 with a MTI 427 that runs (on motor) 10.55 @ 128 (letting out before the end of the 1/4) and to beat that it will take more then a GT700, which sucks for me

Do what Markski said, and if you want a full tuner kit I would check with all the big companies and see what they have to offer.

Quote: I agree jimmer23 - chip, straight pipes and
diverter valves = z06 in rear view mirror
ofcoors you need very fast shifting and good start
here is one video too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfTht...e=user&search=
I have only chip and slipping clutch....but til 200km/h we were even, then z06 goes ahed
Was that you on the n2o?

It also depends on who is driving the car too. I watched a Z06 run a 12.5 @ 115 compared to my 12.4 @ 113 awhile back. I didn't leave at the same time as him so technically he got the win light.

LOL, It doesnt take 600 hp to beat a stock Z06. It only takes about 560-580. Exhaust, ECU and K24's. If they have anything more than a tune, exhaust you are in trouble though.

Hp weight

Z06/ stock 3200/440 = 7.2 lbs/hp
K24 TT 3475/500 = 6.9 lbs/hp

Realistically the Z06 weighs 3200, with the TT all you have to do is run 1/4 tank and remove the spare tire and you'll be at 3400 lbs so your power/weight goes up.

The TT will have more torque after mods so the low end pull is better. As long as you can stay ahead until 5th gear in the vette you will be fine, they fall flat in 5th.

As mentioned before it depends on the tuner you go with though. W/ K24's you should be really close if not at 500 RWHP.

With just a tune my buddies made 480rwhp. My other buddies with a cold air (and tune) made 490rwhp. Plus from a roll the Vette's gearing is very nice for roll racing. Considering they can do ~150-160 in 4th gear.

At the track, or from a stop in Mexico though it's all a drivers race. Like I said I watched a 06 Z06 go a 12.5 @ 115 to my 12.4 @ 113 So it's all about your ability to drive from a dead stop.

From experience, Z06's are very difficult to launch. First gear is very tall and not forgiving (bog versus spin). Look at the varying 1/4 mile and 0-60 times of the mag's. I personally ran a 11.6 at 119mph in mine. Times by the best guys are in the low 11's.

Best way to beat a Z06 is race them repeatedly. They will break

Ranger has been 10.8 or 10.9 in a bonestock C6 Z06. You are correct they are a ***** to drive out of the hole. Though from a roll that long gearing is very nice.

LOL @ 2nd comment!! It's very true. The first pass my friend on my buddies with the cold air it shattered the rearend. Vette IRS is very crappy. Even with every mod but a Diff brace my brother literly split the rearend and transmission apart. To where when you lowered down the cradle that the rearend and transmission basically sit on, the rearend (and part of the tail shaft ) came down with it. Broke every output shaft including ripping the G-Force transmission tranny output shaft into 2 pieces. So if your at the track all you have to have them do is dump the clutch to high one time and its game over

Good stuff. How does the gearing compare between the two?
