I am happy to say I've kept my car completely stock...except for those things I've mentioned in my sig.

Honestly, I didn't think you were allowed on this board if you didn't mod your car

I think there are still lots of "stock" out there but it seems to me that the 996TT is much more modified than any other turbo's from past era. Is it because it is simpler, better configurations, more robust engine? Just amazing that a stock is like a "platform" and we are all building race cars out of them.

Well the fact that the 996 tt motor is based on the GT1 race engine has alot to do with being able to handle mods so well.

Nail on the head, brother.

The 996TT is an amazingly good platform for modifications (albeit expensive).

Honestly, if it wasn't so moddable, I probably never would have purchased one. I would have got another Supra.

It is appearing like only 10% of this forum keeps their car stock out of about 60 responders in one day. Assuming that this is the trend for this forum, does anyone know how many 996TT owners are there who have joined this forum?

If I wasn't a member on 6 or other car forums, I would probably left my car stock. Such a bad influence.

I still see stock, at least in appearance, all the time.

Is any factory car "quite there"? Everybody wants more warp speed. That's until they build a race car / daily driver that needs the fuel map changed just to compensate for the change in weather. I've had highly modded vehicles ... it's out of my blood. I watch a top fuel car, hell even a Pro Mod, go down the strip and realize what real power is. Real race tunes suck on the street. GIAC and other mild mods are good bang for the buck procedures. But, needing to upgrade the suspension on a 996tt for street driving? C'mon. You may want it, but do you really need it? These cars have great setups from the factory for spirited street performance. BTW, what's the best header set for the 996tt?

Red face

oh wait...sorry. mine isn't a TT. but, either way, yes. modified rims/tires, window tint, litronics, exhaust, euro lights, etc. just some things to make it look more unique and updated.
