Looks like '05 will continue with 996TT...

Just got off the phone with a sales guy from Porsche, and he confirmed that '05 Turbos will be VERY limited production numbers of the 996TT.

Can anyone else confirm this? So I guess the 997TT will not debut as an '05 model, which is what some people had hoped.

the question is the coupe or cab. for sure the cab is going to continue. the question lands to the coupes.

I have read that for MY05 the 996 TT Cab and 996 C4S Cab will run along side the 997.

20C4S,

I asked my sales guy the same question. Both the cabs and coupes will continue with the same body style as the current ones.

Is it not the 30th aniversary of the 911 Turbo for 2005? I very much doubt that PAG will miss the opportunity to market a special version to commemorate the 30th aniversary.

My Porsche guy said that 05 Turbo's will only be in CAB form and that they will ALL have the X50 and Ceramic Brake Options, and that it may indeed be called an "S" Model. He had just came back from the Factory, so his info was pretty much firsthand. No 997 TURBO, had to wait for the 998 model for that.

That's what I heard too. I also got word that the 998 series will launch with the new turbo and not with a 998 C2. It's (obviously) not confirmed info yet, but it appears to be very believable to me.

Very interesting info guys.

It looks like we might see a 2 to 3 model-year gap between Turbos again, a la '97 993TT - '01 996TT. '05 996TT - '08 998TT!??

Yep... these gaps are what makes the info sound believable to me. It simply would make sense...

Also other car manufacturers start with their top-models first and release smaller versions later on (e.g. SL 500 and SL 350 later on). So why shouldn't Porsche do the same with the 998?
