Airbox Mods

I was at Beverly Hills Porsche looking at Seinfelds Carrera GT and I asked one of the head service guys what they thought about after market intake kits and airfilters, like K&N or BMC, and he said that it is a terrible thing to do. It doesnt really do anything but flip the check engine light and wont let you pass smog.

He said to do something like put this plug in to plug the hole to the sound dampener in the airbox and some people drill holes in the top of the airbox or something and it sounds very good.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK, HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?

Where can I get the plugs for this?

Sounds like a person who looks after their own pocketbook (the dealers) and does not look after the best interests of you...the car owner. After market filters are better than paper stock filters...imo

Okay, granted that the dealer is always saying things like this, I still will buy the paper filter. But where can i get the sound dampener inserts from.

Remind me to never ask for any advice from Beverly Hills Porsche.
