High RPM's and Delay when shifting

When shifting from 1st to second in my '01 911TT, I notice that when I am accelerating hard, the RPM's rise but the car does not pick up speed until a second or two later. This is also experienced in latter gears. Is this a case of Extreme Turbo Lag or...???

Thanks.

I experience this in first gear only and was thinking it was due to lack of LWF, as my 993 has a LWF and has no hesitation. Just wondering out loud.

1st gear is too low in these cars IMHO. Probably is it. I agree....no real go in 1st.

Flywheel does matter....
If clutch...go to fourth, floor it...do you revs shoot up without touching the clutch pedal?...

Good luck!

The revs do shoot up once a gear change has taken place. This is experiencd when the clutch is totally uncovered.

The clutch scenario is making more sense to me. I also nottice that the clutch is very hard to depress when starting for the first time of the day.

See my sig for what I did when the same thing happened to me.

I went with a complete package. My "feel" is at least as good as new OEM stock...and I have a LOT more power....

Good luck.

Your accumulator is also bad if it is stiff in the morning.

Also, it may be that you are getting wheel spin in 2nd gear, so PSM may be kicking in. Try turning the PSM off and do the same kind of hard acceleration. It may be the clutch too, and I think your accumulator is bad too. I have the same issue.
