a little question

Hello, everybody and a lot of greetings from belgium.

I have a black on black 996 turbo with x 50 from 2003 and have only
25000 km on it and the car is not modified . everything is factory standard.
when i accelerete I always see 0.8 bar of pression and the latest times I see
for a short period 0.9 bar in 2 nd 3 rd an 4 th gear . Yesterday I was accelerating fully and in 3 rd gear I saw for a short period 1.1 bar. I also have seen a few times 1.0 bar. But yesterday It was 1.1 bar.

How is this possible? And when I see 1.1 Do I have more power?
A new exhaust and a new air filter should they gave me more power?

Could be diverter valves going bad, stock ones are junk.

Lines

Check the diverter valves also check all the lines. I had ths same exact issue with my car. It turned out to be one of the lines had come off and the car was overboosting. A lot of extra power but not done in the right manner. If you run the car at theses settings you risk the event of fuel starvashion and that in return will cause detinatioin.

Semih -- For how long did you see the 1.0 and 1.1 bar readings? Under different conditions than before (now going uphill at WOT)? Less than a second, or sustained for many seconds? As limited as my understanding is, under higher load there may be transient peaks of higher boost for a less than a second in higher gears, then settling in to sustained boost. Also, when lifting from being on boost, there may be brief transient higher boost due to transition of the DVs from closed to open.

Hello alpha, I saw the 1.0 bar and 1.1 when I was going a bit uphill and I only saw it for a 0.5 second really not long and I was driving on a bridge ( a little bit uphill). and I first was accelarating in 3 rd and then left my accelarator and after 2 or 3 seconds I pressed the accelarator till the end.

thanks Buddyg and stephenolsen for replying.

I also have my factory warranty. If it is the diverver valves can this be replaced under warranty. ( It is the porsche extended factory warranty )

I think sometimes if you just get .1 for a split second or less every now and then it is no big deal, but if it keeps creeping upward I would take it in for service.
