Back seats for gt2?

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I really want to get a 2+ 2 sports car as I have 2 young boys, 3 years old and a 4 month baby. I don't want to drive by my self all the times, just like when I had my boxcster a littler while ago. Naturally, the turbo is the perfect chopice, but the idea of gt2 is really hitting me recently and in fact it is a real collector item sparks great interest in myself.

Long story short, is it realistic that I can install rear back seats for a gt2?
Thanks.

Ken

I was in the exact same situation as you 4 months ago. Had an NSX and the only time I could drive it was by myself. It turned into a car to drive to McDonalds and back. Two little guys are 3 years and 6 months.

Although its a little bit of a hassle to put car seats in the back, you can with a normal 996tt. I don't know what you would do with a GT2 that doesn't have rear seat belts.

I have a GT2 and it could be done, you would just have to buy seat belts. The female inserts for the bolts that hold the seatbelts are under the carpet. You can probably find the cushions from regular TT turned racecar on one of the numerous porsche sites.

Car seats fit better without the back seat bottom cushion.

You better check with your insurance company and local law enforcement. In the UK, some guy did the same thing in a GT3 and created a real problem for himself because the car was only tested and sold from the manufacturer as a 2 seater.

i have black (standard leather) rear seats (bottoms, backs, hardware) from my 01tt sitting around....

You'd still need the belt retractors and clip-in pieces.....

i dont know if it's possible

Has anyone installed rear seats in GT2 yet? I have complete seats for sale out of my 02 TT. I also have the rear belt slotted trim pieces that the belts come through. I am looking for the non-slotted pieces if they exist (GT2) since I will be removing my rear seatbelts.

I have black interior. I have all the hardware/trim except belts. I don't think the center mount/hinge on the driveshaft hump can be removed easily as it looks permanently mounted. Everything and anything else that can be removed I have. If someone wanted the latches that stick out of the side panels I'll need a fix for the hole left behind. What's the GT2 have? pics anyone? (I zip-tied them inside the c-pillar.)

My Porsche Dealership has done this for a 997 GT3. It is a lot of work. Possible, but not cheap.
