Informative Porsche Tire Developement
Forget 225. Why not just go with a 235 in the front and 315 in the rear? Both are n-spec and more rubber is a good thing. These fit perfectly on an 8.5" front and 11" rear wheel.

Anyone else out there with either of these combos care to comment?
I went with the Pilot Sport N2 spec, 235 front, 295 rear on my 02 TT. Tech and service manager at Gaudin Porsche could see no problem. Ive got about 850 miles on them...very nice! My wife, who's not in the car a great deal, noticed how much quieter they are then the Pirelli's. Ride seems a bit less harsh, and performance, it's early, but so far excellent.

Parden my confusion, but are those the 1st generation Pilot Sports, or the new Pilot Sport S2's that come on the GT3?

The difference is in the width, sidewall to sidewall. And yes, this is the new generation Pilot Sport--2. As far as fit, fits stock rim, no problem with front wheel well.
the 235 size is ~ 25.4", resulting in an approximate difference of .4" between the front and rear tire/wheel OD's when using a 295 sized rear tire.

235 front 315 rear is a perfect match. Why use 295 on the rear??
