Doing a Proper Corner Balance Alignment

I just thought I would share this info and pictures of a proper corner balance alignment done on a Porsche 996TT. Redline Motorsports in AZ is probably the most knowledgeable Porsche suspension shop in the Southwest. He does a ton of Porsche cup cars with Motons and is now hooked on JIC's too. Well after I put my 19's on it, it needed some adjustment. I like to set the car to GT2 specs and he handles the rest Check out the spec sheets and give him a call for any tech questions on alignments.

Makes a huge difference. Have them set the car up to GT2 specs. If you have not gotten a sway bar, do the rear H&R only, AP control arms, and AP sway bar links in the rear, best handling street/weekend racer ever.

I am sure Redline appreciates the comments

I am not sure I am reading this thread correctly but I don't see any corner balance numbers, do you not mean corner weight balance?

I take it this is not for a street/track/DE car. Also, a couple of the values are a bit out of spec but pretty well balanced overall.

The car has been balanced at all 4 corners and aligned accordingly.

Can you show the corner weights? That is really the interesting reading I thought?

I would be interested in seeing the corner balance numbers before and after as well as the alignment numbers shown here. For me it is the main reason to upgrade to a spring perch adjustable suspension and sway bar set up. It would be interesting to see what movement can be made.

Doing the alignment without corner balancing is a total waste of money if you are changing shocks!! If you do it, make sure you get a printout of the weight side to side, front to rear, and diagonally. I would think that Levitas would not accept to let you go after changing your shocks without having done it before.

Yep. The meaning of corner-balancing is getting the corner weights
right. The data in this thread is about alignment, which is important,
but that it what you do after you've done a corner-balance.
I too would like to see the before and after corner weights.
I can run them through a program that calculates the ideals...
Joe
