JIC 's a step back ?
tom, do you know what type of dl's that broke? I have a feeling they were stock dl's as those are pretty wimpy. I have had 2 stock units set break on me. I have not heard or seen any of the TRG, Scargo, Tarrett having a breaking issue.
My thoughts on the JIC/Cross
For the street it requires soft settings or you wil lose valueable othodontics.
For the track it works surprisingly well when dialed in combined with the proper
drop links (not the stock wimpy ones or the JIC ones). It is a reasonably priced
fair performing coil over system. Their certainly are several better. You get what
you pay for as they say. Doing it over, I would have just done the Moton Club Sport
and be done with it.

Snapped a stock droplink last weekend at the track. Just ordered and got in a set of Tarretts for the rear. I'm hoping I don't have any more issues there in the rear... I don't see fronts listed for the TT. Do we just order them for the Carrera/GT3 as the same part? I'm running PSS9s and the car, setup with the correct alignment and cornerweighting really handles well. Not had any issues with it handling "poorly".

I have just noticed an additional problem with my JIC Cross system with TRG drop links front and rear attached to H&R anti-roll bars front and rear.
The rear shocks have a horizontal piece at the bottom that attaches to the drop link. Mine have twisted around on the shaft they are nutted to and changed the angle of the drop link to the anti-roll bar. That has to be adding some pre-load and has probably slightly changed my corner weights. Anyone else noticed this problem?

I just put the JIC 8/12's on my car with AP connectors (top, rear) and full adj drops (beefy, front and rear). Wow.
Now, my JIC manual was lost as the box opened in transit to the shop..mechanic talked to Ben and the install was easy. How do you set it to hard and soft in simple terms...it is set mid and on the street is is just a little too harsh. At Pocono it was awesome! The shop all felt it was superior quality to Bilstein PSS9/10 and H&R. It is far more adjustable and a lot less costly than Moton....that being said here is how I think about shocks now in terms of track usage:
top tier:
cup/Porsche motorsports parts/custom stuff (big $$$$$)
second near top tier:
moton/jrz (the high end of their lines...$$$$$)
third tier:
jic/kwv3/low end JRZ
fourth tier:
bilstein pss9/10
fifth tier:
H&R
sixth tier:
stock (H&R I think...)
Jeff, From what I was told, The H&R stuff is just re-labeled and revalved Bilstein stuff (SEMA show last year). And for what it's worth, I think the PSS9 and JIC stuff is about even... I think they're both fine entry level track shocks, but for my money, and once my skill level can justify it, you can't beat Motons or JRZs.
So to me it would be

cup/Porsche motorsports parts/custom stuff (big $$$$$)

moton/jrz (the high end of their lines...$$$$$)
third tier:
jic/kwv3/low end JRZ/bilstein pss9/10/H&R
