Edo Competition reworks the 911 GT2 R, now with 997 flavor

Don't be deceived. Although the front clip of this EDO-tuned GT2 may look like the 997 variant that debuted last week in Frankfurt, it's actually a carbon fiber replica that makes use of the headlight design employed on the new breed of 911s. Obviously, there's much more to the EDO Competition GT2 R than just a facelift, as evidenced by its massive fender flares, extreme body kit and Chicago-style deep-dish wheels.
The GT2 R gets a series of upgrades, beginning with the engine, which benefits from a new exhaust and a retuned ECU bumping power output to 542 HP and 557 lb.-ft. of torque. The stock suspension has been ditched in favor of KW adjustable coilovers, while the brakes have grown to 380 mm up front and 350 mm in the rear, clamped by 4-piston fixed calipers.
The rolling stock is comprised of 18-inchers at all four corners, measuring 10-inches wide up front and a massive 13-inches in the rear. All four wheels are shod in top-of-the-line Michelin Pilot Sports, sized 235/45 in front and 335/30 out back.
Top speed: 205 MPH. 0-62: 3.8 seconds. 0-124: 11 flat. Bad-*** factor: immeasurable.

This kit has been around for awhile in Europe.A lot of race teams have used this kit that have run GT2's in European GT series.

these supposed tuner cars are usually a hard -flash plus some poorly proven/thin carbon fiber body pieces in place of steel bodypanels that likely RAISE the drag CE on the car essentially zeroing out any weight savings, and that's probably generous. the "poser" dyno run with race gas (most "special package" cars) is nothing but a good GIAC tuner flash and not real engineering. do UMW, EVO, SHARK, PROTO, IMAGINE and get real engineering with a BRUTALLY fast ar that STILL works... no external rivets and panel clips, thank you. congratulations to the kit-builder, though... there's a lot of margin in this kind of equipment.
I've seen that kind of car(s) many times. Both with the new and old lights. Don't like the 997 nose, the older ones are better with the 996 lights
But still no need for hating imo.
It's basically a track car for the street. There are teams using that body kit (usually with 996 style head lights). DP-Motorsport has similar and impressive stuff (race victory proven, ~6.40 lap on Nordschleife with the Alzen Porsche.)
Quite silly to compare EDO to Wicked. If I'm correct EDO is the fastest of the tuners in Osterleben and Nordschleife. Cargraphic is still faster on the Hockenheim. (Of course most companies don't offer that hardcore packages, but still proper tuners really test and their perfromance, they are not just showing off impressive dyno graphs or bling bling wheels
)
