A question for the experts about wastegates..
I've been told that in order to sustain the boost in my car I would need to modify or get wastegates with say a 1.2 bar spring...Tial would be a consideration....
I have had the Protomotive software (which "Kicks ***") for some time now on my 03 X50 along with the Fabspeed 100 cell cats exhaust, Bailey D valves, with the waste gates adjusted...
Thoughts....

RHD,
This is going back aways now. I don't recall what the stock waste gate maximum setting is. I do know to achieve 1.2 bar you will need stronger springs otherwise your waste gates will relieve at the earlier stock setting. Tial has excellent products, however lately they haven't been meeting delivery schedules very well.

Let's just say that the stock spring is rated a little more than 1/2 bar. I'm in the process of making a 1bar upgrade kit for the gates.. Now there is another problem that is happening. The BOV break out is usually at 1.2-1.3 bar so when you set your gates the spike will overpower the BOV and dump the boost. Back into the intake. So, you will need to shim the spring in the BOV's...
