"Current Pricing" Or The "Help me Get Into a 996TT Thread"

Ok...so given the relativly large decline of the US Peso and its current parity with the loonie....i would be clinically insane if i didn't try to get into a 996TT at this point and time.

Assuming the dollar stays within 5 cents or so of the US buck, i should be able to make a move in roughly 6 months, if not sooner or later.

What are my options in the 55-59K$ range? No conditions really except no cabrios, no chicktronics (no offense), and no silver cars plz

how much premium if any does the X50 poweroption add to the value of the car? generally speaking how many kms are on a car of this price and most importantly i guess would be how many kilometers (er...miles?) is too for a car of that value.

and where do you think the price of the TT's will go in the next year? some people i spoke to seem to think the turbos have bottomed out (while the gt2's may slide a little bit in light of the new model lauch).

cheerss

$65K-$70K with the X50 costing you $70K if you REALLY look hard.

Sub-20K miles and ZERO issues.

Drop both numbers by $5K for an "01"

Raise both numbers by $5K for an "04"

Higher miles you are in the ballpark for $59K and 01-02 non-X50

Get an ECU flash and you just "X-50'd your 996TT" with stock K16's but beyond that costs $$$.

If you go too CHEAP you may find yourself in the midst of $5K+ in misc niggling repairs. These cars are expensive. If you've got your purchase price narrowed down to $2K increments, how will you feel @ $1.5K for tires or $3K for a clutch? With 500TQ these cars eat more than your 996 N/A that's probably good for 300K miles if maintained properly. The extra 200hp is nice but you will DEFINITELY pay for it along the way, not just up front.

tires are a non-issue..i change them every season or 7k kms these days anyhow (curbs, sizes, random issues )

what is wholesale price on these cars looking like in the US? i have access to some of the wholesale auctions in canada. I'm sure i can also bid on US wholesale cars too with the same paperwork.

Watch eBay for sales prices, not asking prices. '01s in particular are well under $60k.

you should be able to pick up a 2001 with relatively low miles (30K ish) in good shape.
