I do not launch my car but will take it to the track about 4 days a year.
My clutch appears healthy now and would like to hold off on getting a new clutch until next year.

Currently I have the following mods and do not drive the car daily:
Softronic tune, Agency Power exhaust & diverter valves, and boost hoses.

Last week I installed the boost hoses & diverter valves then ran a boost leak check. I found several leaks that were fixed with zip ties. My oem wastegates look really rusty and think they are leaking slightly under 15 psi pressure.

My 2001 996 turbo has 38,000 miles with only 2 track days so far.

Thanks,
Jim
I just did this to my car with addition of RPI 3 inch exhaust, Forge silicon hoses, RSS motor mounts and a new transmission mount. I ported the turbo inlets and smoothed welds on inlet and outlet of headers to help with spool. My car has had about 7 tracks days with stock clutch and it was fine at stock power level. I'm getting ready to change my clutch today, as the power can totally overwhelm it now. Drive gentle and its ok, but what's the fun of driving gentle? I realize all clutches are different, so just do it and maybe yours will hold, for awhile.

Yesterday received the K16 Billets, flash loader, and 5 bar from Mark.
Tomorrow I will be doing the installation.
Any bets on how long my stock clutch will last?
I'm hoping it will last (with no launches) until early next year when I plan to install injectors and have the new clutch put in....

It held a 1 bar tune so that's good news. We will keep it at 1.15 bar it should hold.

Hi mark,
Just finished installing both turbos.
Next is the 5 bar.
I may wait until the morning so I'm fresh.

Thanks for your help earlier today,
Jim

I now have everything installed including the tune and just need to put the wheelwell guards, rear tires, and take off the jack stands.
Yesterday I found another boost leak but was an easy fix being a hose that came off a sensor connected to the secondary air pump (in the way of the 5 bar). After work today I should finish in short time and will take a test drive.
I will provide feedback shortly of the difference going from just a stock 996T with tune/exhaust to the K16 Billet turbo, 5 bar, updated tune.

Mark,
Thanks again for your phone support through the installation.
Your customer support is really second to none!

Congrats! You will love it! What is your outside temperature?

Once you get by the "bug" it becomes very addictive...next comes IC's...lol

Markski has the best customer service I have seen! He answers the phone all hours and texts you just to see how things are going! I think that is awesome. That is exactly what I have to do with my customers

I live in the mountains of Western NC with the temperature ranging today from 82 to 59F. I bet it will run well in the early morning cool air.

Yes it will. Keep an eye on your coolant fittings! How many miles do you have on it!

It currently has about 38,000 miles.
I have also put on a 997 short throw shifter (huge improvement), updated boost hoses, forged diverter valves, and N75 valve.
So far my coolant lines are ok.
I know it costs $$ and an engine pull to fix.
Do the coolant fittings show any signs of popping loose or do they just cause a major leak?
Thanks

No signs whatsoever You get on throttle hard, smile comes on your face then POP...you look as if you are pulling a James Bond style gettaway Engine removal is not necessary to pin the fittings. It is tedious but I did all the fittings in a day. The very worst case that can happen now is I can develop a leak, not have a fitting pop completely out emptying the coolant all over the place!

How many miles did you have on your car when you the coolant line came loose?
I only track several times a year so the odds are probably really low to cause a catastrophic situation. If it happens on the road I could just get it towed to a shop and get a quick fix/pin of the affected pipe. Then I would bite the bullet and pin the rest. I wonder how common this issue really is?
Thanks
