NEW 996 C2 Splitter

NEW 996 C2 Splitter
I am working on a splitter for the 996 C2 after numerous requests by owners. For the past few years I have been working on GT2, GT3, TT and Cayman. I completed a Boxster 986 part last week and with the two bumpers being so similar it was a natural to carry on and do the C2 piece. I will be able to post pictures of the part in a couple of days but in the mean time look at my Facebook page "Joe Toth composites" for my other parts. The new splitter will be very similar with the only changes that it fits the C2 bumper properly.

I saw your other splitters and they look great. I think the c2 crowd desperately needs another alternative from what's already out there. If I didn't have my aero with mk2 cup splitter already, I'd be all over this.

I have the aero bumper with OEM splitter and on a lowered car, ramps and inclines can be challenging without scraping the bottom.
If you offered a street version where it's about 1" higher with not as much lip overhang and no vertical lip height under the splitter, would probably be more street friendly and hence more sales since it would reach a wider audience. Just my $.02

Alpine003......point taken. The large lip on the front is there for the mold so that I have extra for trimming. Parts will be trimmed about 3/8" lip. On a factory ride height car there will be approx. 5-1/4" ground clearance. With the other two piece 996 stuff I've done most of the street splitters are set at 4" and the customers are happy without major issues.

I've been communicating with Joe on Facebook about this recently. Can't wait to place my order and get the splitter on. His other work speaks volumes, showing attention to detail, and balancing form and function. Once I have the splitter on, I'll post a picture(s).

Having seen Joe's work on Ryan Stewart's Cayman S build (Garage Midnight), it's made me want him to work on the 996. It's only a couple of weeks ago I was bothering him to see if and when he will make them.
What's the ETA of this?
Cheers,
Seán

I have completed the 996 C2 splitter. After the cutting and pasting of the 986 Boxster part I have yet another new mold and producing parts. Unfortunately I do not have a car to mount the splitter on. The bumper in the pictures is on loan from Jeff at Turn3 Autosport and is going on a Boxster race car build. I do already have a part going out so hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can get pictures of this mounted on a car.

So that part going out actually went to me (correct me if I'm wrong, Joe). The fitment was excellent and very easy to install. I jacked up the front and removed the black bumper trim on the underside. The two tabs you see on the sides insert into the slots where the bumper trim was located. The splitter already had holes pre-drilled; so all I had to do was drill through and into the underside of the bumper in order for insert the blind nuts for mounting.
I definitely have to go up driveways and over speed bumps slowly and approach diagonally; but that is a compromise I can and have lived with before. Currently, I'm on Koni Single Adjustable Suspension with H & R Sport Springs. I have to say, the car's stance and look appears much more aggressive; and might I add, more appealing than the limited splitters out there for the 996 C2.
I've attached a couple of pictures from a local PCA autox event. Also, for comparison, I attached a picture from a previous event, which did not have the splitter mounted.
Thank you for making this happen, Joe.
