at what mileage have people replaced their pads -front or rear -with moderate driving, not track. have you also replaced your rotors at the same time? have you needed to do both front and rear at the same time? now - the important question what has it cost?

the story: brought my car in to swap out my winter wheels and tries for the summer set and got to talking to the service rep about brakes. (i currently have 28000 on my 02 - they sad front pads 60% left - rear 75% left). his answer was around 50,000 or so with a cost of $1000 per axle for pads and rotors?
