How old are you guys? and gals?
far too young for street ownership, but arguably too old for motorsports...I got some catching up to do!!!
As for the ruined...in the sense that you will always have to own a Porsche yes...but, rather than waiting for the next greatest thing to come around, you will find the older cars, while FAR less powerful are FAR more fun to drive and there are OH so many options...964turbo, any standard 993, a classic 72...they all drive different and wonderfully!!!

34 and the 996 is my 12th Porsche. I currently have 2, but recently (within the last 6 months) had 5 at one time. Here are the last two I sold:
The red one was a 79 SC and the blue one was a 1974 with all 930 running gear...man I miss that one.

Well, I am shocked at some 20 year olds getting into some p-cars...man. I am 29 and thought I was the baby...
I got some paying off to do on mine but everyone I talk to says "I stole it" when I explain the condition and price...
Yes, I do find myself in the garage staring at it too. I just need to get over the "cringe" when I turn the ignition praying it turns over and I dont need to find $5K to fix something. But, the advisor at RUF in DFW said they are quite low maintenance cars so I should be cool....
Rock on!

long story..
18 when I bought my 99' Box.(over 2 years ago)
19 when we met a sidewall.(1 month shy of my 20th bday)
20 when I got my 01' Boxster S(1 month ago)
.....yes all have been paid by me, the car,gas,insurance,tune-ups and extra crap done to them.
My Pops got his 01's 996 c2 at 41. He is hooked.
There is no way I'm going back to anything else,I don't trust any other cars at triple digit speeds like I do these.
