can anyone explain what does this mean?? how does it effect my car?? (03 4S) how can i tell if my car has it?? how can it be solved? cost? is it a big problem or just to much talk going around?

Check out this link. If you see some oil spots directly under the middle of the engine, you probably have it. Although if it is small, it may not hit the ground. If you look under the car between the wheels and you see oil around the area where the transmission mates to the engine, that's it.
If you have it and you car is out of warranty, it's about an $800 repair. The problem occurs if the housing is out of spec and you need a new engine - $$$$. No one knows what the long term prognosis is with a new seal. They haven't been in the cars long enough to know if they are going to hold. And yes, it is a big problem, particularly as cars go out of warranty and Porsche wants the owner to pay for the repair.
