I've been told by some German friends that Porsches cost more in Germany than in the US and only "wealthy" people own them. In several visits I've made to Germany (Munich area), I seem to recall not seeing many Porsches, in contrast to my home in Southern California where they're quite common.

Look at the bumperettes-less rear bumper!

either that or we just have lots of credits...

MSRP in US for a 997S is what? 83K? In Europe it's more like 130K Sucks for us. We pay more taxes too, more expensive gas, only have 1/2 the sportscar-season, list goes on

I think if your US military in Germany, you can get a pretty good deal on a new Porsche through Porsche directly. It was a few thousand less when I considered doing it.

Welcome BidDaddy to the forum. It will be nice to hear your views on things.

Yes, I feel your pain. I was in Stockholm last month for one week and I think I saw only two Boxsters the entire time. There was a sweet F430 Spider parked in front of the Grand Hotel though.

I must say, however, that before I went there, my male friends all asked me to bring them back a "Swedish babe", so I'm sure you guys can find interesting things to do during the non-sportscar season.

Yeah when I was with the 173rd Airborne in Italy, the dealerships offered great deals!! but I was a private and didn't have the cash flow, and wasn't practical.
