Curious on the handling question also
I have 15mm H&Rs front and rear on my stock 1999 C2 wheels - fits perfectly. 7mm for the front are too thin

It would seem to me that the wider footprint would increase the handling capabilities. My thought was lower & wider = better handling. I am also looking at the H&R coilovers to combine with the right spacers.

I'd still like to hear from sklarge who made the statement about the change in handling with spacers. If he put them on and noticed a difference I'd really like to know what he meant.

I finally got my 15mm spacers installed on 1999 stock wheels. (The economy plan until larger wider wheels are bought)The fit is perfect no rubbing and fenderwells are filled in very nice. Handling seems to be better as it has a wider stance. H&R longer lug nuts worked out perfectly and look better than stock. PSS9s dropped it over an inch and it sure looks great. Pics this weekend.

well, what you're effectively doing by adding wheel spacers is increasing the track of the car. This will lower the roll center of the suspension in either the front or the rear. Thus, you can change the roll centers of the front and rear relative to each other to increase or decrease understeer and oversteer.

whether it's noticeable is another story. i would say that it completely depends on the car and suspension geometry. You have a light car like a lotus elise with a short wheelbase and small track, you're going to affect it a lot more by adding more to the track. It just translates to more difference in the roll centers.

There's really no difference between what I'd use on a regular or TT Carrera with stock wheels. 7 mm front and 15 mm rear.

Heres mine 15mm all the way around and zero rubbing. The 15mm really helps fill the space between top of fender and edge of wheel....please excuse my ugly orange look....yuk!

Yoops:

You would think this would be a standartd feature from PORSCHE. (15mm spacers on all corners.)
