Wheel spacers on C2

I have a 2002 C2 five spoke 18 X 8.5 up front 18X10 in the rear 285 30s on the rear. I am looking at Weltmeister 27mm spacers to fill out the wheel wells. Anyone running these?

Too wide of a spacer. 15-18MM in the back and 7-15MM in the front have been the most common on stock offset wheels.

fvd or h&r have had good results based on feedback from 6speeders

Thanks for the input guys. I am looking at Weltmeister due to the design, which uses less mass, sort of a five point design instead of circular for weight savings. The wheels definitely sit too far into the wells in stock form. I believe they have a 15mm.

15 mm will be a huge change in handling already.
+ I dont think you need to save .2 lbs of unsprung weight. That'll be negligible.
i have h&r and they're fine just the way they are.

sklarge, are you in a C2 or C4S, how much visual difference do the spacers make?

i'm sorry, i think i misled everyone. I actually own a m3. However, the visual impact from a 15mm spacer should be pretty noticeable, depending on your wheel size. If you're running stocks, they should fill out the fenders a loot more, just imagine if you pushed your wheel face out an inch, that should give you an idea of how they will look.

i have 15mm for my rear twists and 7 mm for a different set. H/R spacers both kinds. FIlls out the wheel wells perfectly for each rim.

Go with the H&R spaces 7 mm front and 15 mm rear. I'm drawing a blank but I'm pretty sure H&R makes the OEM spacers for Porsche. They fill out the wheel wells perfectly and won't affect your handling noticeably or cause excessive wear on anything in the suspension due to the revised angles and stresses.

Anything wider than this will make your wheels stick out of the wheel wells and look like a monster truck. Not good!

No pictures but depending on height and tire you may rub. I have 285 rear tires on the stock 10' wheels and used to have H&R springs and 14mm H&R spacers on both the front and rear of the car. When I went to coilovers and an even further reduced ride height it was very obvious that the 14mm spacers were going to cause rubbing int he rear. I think the front would have been OK but the rear was a no-go. At moderate drop heights however they were fine.

I know that lug bolts do need to be bigger, depending on the size of the spacer. Check automotion.com, they have a chart in their catalog. They also have a couple of different styles of spacers.
