Question on a G35???

This may be a stupid question but this G35 came up on me and wanted to race. I didn't give into his childish antics and he drove off. My question is how bad could I have blown him away. I'm pretty sure he didn't have a Turbo or S.C installed but who knows. Resisting this was hard but I figure it's not worth the ticket or god forbid a wreck. I must be getting old.

If it was boosted you have gotten your doors blown off (if the dude could drive worth a hoot) but if not, id say you would have had him....but not 'smoked' too badly

stock you would have killed it and if FI you might still have beaten it. martin (illm3) says he used to beat FI g35s with his stock m3.

BigMac78 is infamous around these parts
now now...

I rented a G35 and it had some punch....but the steering / suspension is horrible.....next time wait until an on-ramp or steep curve comes up then punch it and let him watch that spoiler pop up....

They aren't horribly fast cars. Maybe I'm just jaded to my particular car and just have friends with really fast cars to compare to. Having the little brother of the G35 I would happily say you probably would have kicked his ***. The G35's aren't horribly quick by any stretch of the mind. Although at least for the Z's the automatics feel a hell of a lot slower than my manual does that is for sure! Just be happy you guys didn't race and he was a TT sleeper Now that would have been a completely different story.

The G35 is pretty fast...i know that from my old moded 350z a year ago...as here ppl say...you cant really smoke it so badly when both are stock...But who cares..the is the level difference...and as you say...dont wanna take risk for any tickets or accident..i always have something like modded civics wanna race me on the highway since i need to get to school by the highway everyday...and i would just ignore them..
Drive safe..
Have fun with you C4S

I had a 350Z tangle with me a while back. I could tell it was modded just by looking at it. I don't know what he had under the hood, but that thing could move! I didn't know he was itching for a run so he lit it up kind of unexpectedly and I was in the wrong gear. But once I reacted I could only keep him from pulling away. My C2 engine is stock.

Spec's for the G35 are 5.4 0-60 and 13.9 quarter mile stock, so you should be able to handle it if you can drive OK. Porsche 996 is around 4.9 and 13.4 stock so about 1/2 second quicker which relates to about 4 car lengths in a quarter mile run.

No contest. My buddy has a G35 and we raced from a stoplight. I pulled a few cars ahead of him easily.

The G35 is a decently fast car. Its not overwhelmingly fast though. It is still a heavy sedan with horrible suspension and bad steering feedback and sticky/non-responsive clutch.

Next time you see one, floor it and see them shrink in your rearview

It does look decent on paper. I think the crappiest part is that the suspension SUCKS big time. U shoulda jus' murked off on him and served him a lesson in respect............. unless he was TT'd up
