^ WOW..that amp is tinier than i thought it would be!
i guess i could always use two of them, 1 of the 4 channels to drive all the components, and then a second one to drive the two doors and still have room for an 8" subwooferr.
how much does that PDX weight? its got to be sub 20 lbs.
what is that tube thing in front btw?

The weight is closer to 10 LBS I guess and the plastic cover is for the hydraulic lines which leaves no room for 2 amps and the crossovers. It really depends what you want out of your system and you also have door speakers which I do not. With one amp I powered the 2 fronts w/crossovers using 2 channels and the third I used for 1 Sub which left and extra channel which is unused, the back fill I used stock Hi Fi porsche speakers which come with tweeters and there own frequency blockers in them using the HD unit to drive them. The rest is just balancing the system through the HD unit. One thing I like is it does not bust the bank account.

denis,
budget for the speakers and amp is like..1500$? 2g's? I have a head unit that's fine for right now..it's nothing special, just a B.O.S.S audio dvd deck but it does the job.

I have a 2 chan and a 1 ch audison on my sound board i will sell you at cost if you want. they are lrx series
This is the mentality many audiophiles have. I will check my pricing for you
Technically, you will have only 4 speakers, you will be using a 2-3 ways setup for the front and to put on your dash that use the same crossover network, so it will only take up 2 ch on the amp for left and right channels. Alot of people dont like rear fill, some people run the rear speakers off the deck power and fade to the front, some people dont use rear fill at all, some people like it. When you go to a rock concert, recording studio, opera, symphony, they dont play behind you

This is the mentality many audiophiles have. I will check my pricing for youI work in a recording studio everyday, and you need rear fill...it just fills out the space....you know the studio if designed well has NATURAL reflections, so you are always hearing rear fill...its part of how we hear things....We hear in 3 dimensions...dont think so...go into a dead sound room...then play something from one direction and have material absorbing sond on the opposite wall so there is NO reflection...it sounds horrible. This is why recording studios are "live" rooms. They wan natural reflections...so they spend TONS of money designing a natural sounding live room. I ran my rears off the deck and it was not near enough power to keep up with the fronts...There is a huge difference between no rears and rears...I blew my factory rears and drove for a week with no rears...it drove me crazy...rear fill done right is wonderful.
