Removing Bumperettes

Hi,
I wanted to get my bumperettes painted, but I'm not sure how to remove them. I have a 2000 C2 Cab and I have tried various methods of removing these pieces, but I don't want to damage them.

Thanks!

If the 2000 bumperettes are the same as the 99, (not the 02+ painted ones), then it only takes about 10 minutes. You need a long allen wrench, #6. Be careful not to scratch the bumper while turning. When the bolt releases, the bumperette will slide off easily. Be very careful.

Also, if you want have painted ones, just talk to Eric at BumperPlugs. The quality is unmatched and their prices are reasonable. He'll also walk you through the installation process. No affiliation, just a happy customer.

yeah i have an 01 and AFAIK there are 2 screws allen or whatever it is UNDERNEATH the bumperette. The hole is very deep hence you need the long wrench to reach.

It should literally take you 10 mins. good luck!

Order the painted units on our site...we'll send you the new set first, with instructions, then send the old ones back.

Really, it's that easy.

Had them professionally painted locally, it shouldn't cost more than 150, i'm very happy with the paint prep and finish.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I saw the bolts underneath the bumperettes, but I wasn't sure what size allen to use. I'll give this a try over the weekend.

Happy Holidays!

Similar, but the bumerettes are painted and have a cap covering the screw.
