Does Porsche diable the battery if you leave your key in the ignition

Left the car in the garage with the key in it for two days. The car was off and no lights were on. The car is now dead. On top of that I just discovered that you can't pop the hood without a separtate power source. Who's F'n bright idea was that??? What a pain in the ***. Now I'm scrambing to find another battery. Any ideas here. I'm supposed to leave at 7 am for the boca meet. I didn't see anything in the manual about this.

One other thing, how are you suppose to connect the cables between the fuse box and the door latch. I have three sets of cables and none of them spilt far enough to reach. Guess I'll have to use one side on two sets of cables.

Hopefully this is something more simple and does not need a battery swap.

i have the porsche charger. just didn't have time to wait. got the new battery. works great.

problem was....i bought the car used from a dealer. guess what? it had some old piece of **** bmw battery in there. the car must have gone dead on the lot and they switched it with whatever they had. this battery looked really old.

i could barely get this bmw battery out. at first i thought it was really freakin heavy because i couldn't lift it out. i had undone the terminals and the clip that holds the battery down. this thing fit so tight in the battery tray, i had to unbolt that too, just to get the battery out. what a pain in the ***.

oh well, she's running again. Boca here I come
