Flashed My ECU

scott at softronic told me that since i had bought his program for the boxsterS recently he would swap me for the program for my C4S at no charge since they are the same price. all he asked is that i flashed the boxster back to stock before trading-in. no problem, i was gonna do that anyway.

flashed the boxster to stock. brought home the C4S. read the original program and sent it to scott over internet. next day he sent me my tuned ECU program which i flashed into my ECU through the OBDII port.

throttle response is better. low and mid-range torque is noticeably higher. power comes on less peaky. should work nicely with planned mods...

engine: IPD plenum + turbowerx headers
suspension: H&R sway bars
trim: front license plugs, driver door plug and painted bumperettes from eric the "plug guy". (thanks eric for turning me on to the painted bumperettes option. they will look almost as good as an expensive euro bumper for lots less $$$.)

wish i could afford PSS9s, but gotta save some money for michelin PS2s later this year.

you should talk to scott at softronic. he doesn't try to charge extra for the race gas or stock program. his software modifies the maps in a way that scales from 93 octane up to race gas. and, he includes the stock program in the base price.

you get a durametric USB/OBDII cable. i didn't get any durametric software from scott. but, durametric has free software download. i meant to ask him if that would work. i'll email him and find out...

Do you have the website for softronics? I am very interested in this mod but I think it might be a better idea to get the IPD Plenum first. Either way, I do plan to get my ECU flashed in the near future.

I added the Softronic tune last year (Scott's a great guy, and very patient I might add) along with the RSS plenum and the Schnell straight tube intake. Together these made a nice difference - sharper throttle response, no flat spots, car feels quicker (subjective I realize) and pulls stronger. Doesn't turn the car into a TT, but I like the extra grunt and I'm happy with these mods.
Just installed some FisterD cans (thanks Darin!) so have the full choir on board ... no need for a stereo now

Does anyone have a LWFW and the ECU upgrade? I am getting my car back today with my new Spec Stage II clutch and LWFW. I would like to know what the car feels like with the LWFW and the ECU upgrade.
