I'm doing the install in a couple hours (actually, I'm changing oil, pulling out that clutch helper spring doo-dad, AND installing this plenum). Any advice? Warnings? Complications? Or is this pretty straight forward?

Thanks in advance!

I think it is pretty straight forward! My dealer had mine done in one hour or so.

grrr. spent too much time under the steering wheel trying to pull out that spring, and I lost my light. Plenum's going to have to wait another day or two....

Yes use the same hardware in your OEM one. Let us know how you make out.

Non-Egas would need slightly longer bolts. Mine did.

had plenum installed yesterday by marc at turbowerx. great guy! my impressions are in two categories: sound and performance.

the intake used to make kind of a slurping noise when i hit the throttle. now it sounds more like a gulp. and, it definitely sounds like more air is rushing in.

the performance improvements are questionable. the car seems to pull a little better -- might be wishful thinking. it may be that the ECU hasn't "learned" about the increased air flow yet. or, it may be that the softronic ECU tune has already squeezed out most of the possible improvement.

i'm really happy with both mods. but, if i could only have one. i might go with the ECU tune. and, in the case of softronic, get the durametric logging software as a bonus.

next mods: CAI and headers. then mufflers.

update: ok. i actually noticed the difference today on my commute. the car is definitely pulling harder and rev'ing smoother. excellent!

I did mine last year and would say it's fairly straightforward but awkward in terms of getting both sides sealed in correctly.

As for performance there is a noticeable difference.

Mr Redridge, have a question what kind of numbers are you seeing from the SC and what are your overall impressions thus far?

Thanks
