wipers and defrost button won't turn off?

wipers and defrost button won't turn off?
okay..... i go in my car today, start it up, and everything is fine.... after 2 mins of the car warming up, my wipers start to engage, so i tried placing it in the other mode....
all the way up - fast wiper
next down - slow wiper
next down from that - still slow wiper
all the way down - slow wiper....
so no matter what i do, the wiper won't shut off.........??????? wtf? and my defrost button light won't shut off either....... HELP!
oh yes, mine is a 99' 996 cab
