I would recommend going with a different gearing, this will make your car feel like it has a lot more stomp. It will tend to shorten up the top end, so I guess it really depends one what you are looking to accomplish. Feel free to call me if you want to discuss your options.

Good Luck!

The best overall gain for you car is 100 cell cats, it truly is one of the best mods that will wake up the NA. Other then a charger and maybe the plenum nothing else works...Ask me how I know

Schrick makes cams for the 3.4 porsche engines? Where can I find more information about this?

Also, does anyone know if there are any lightweight pulley upgrades for our 996s? I had it for my M3 and it sure did help the engine rev much quicker.

My car has a cold air intake, fabspeed exhaust and a chip. My buddy just bought a 996 (same year as mine, 2000) and his is completely stock. Mine FEELS much faster. Part of it is the sound but it seems much more responsive as well. After driving mine and his back to back, he has started down the mod trail...

Personally, I don't really care what the dyno says (don't get me wrong, I feel more power is better than less power) but my car is a Daily Driver so I want it to feel fast.

Please let us know your results...good luck.

KN Intake kit and Agency exhaust gave me 15 more whp, dyno tested. Not much, but my main reason for those upgrades was the sound.
The mods which gave me the greatest driving improvement are: Kenwood DVD NAV, KW Variant III coilovers (frigging awesome), and the GT3 RS bumper + MKII side skirts.

more info on the cams please.

nine9six: the GT3 RS has a different pulley (read: lighter?) on it. Swapping to that one might be worth it, but i don't think the pulleys on a 996 are a significant source of power loss. On some cars (m3's and rx-8's and stuff) they help the engine rev a little more, but on a 996 i'm not sure if they would make a difference.

if someone made one though, i'd buy it to try it out. a lightweight flywheel and pulley on an rx-8 makes the car rev like nothing else i've ever driven, its great fun.

The only thing that really makes sense is weight loss, supercharger, and suspension. The bolt on aftermarket mods, chips, CAI's, exhausts, etc are really good at losing weight from your wallet but have a pathetic return on investment, especially in the over-priced Porsche parts market (yeah, I know that the market is much smaller and they need more to cover costs of development .. yada yada yada). CAI and exhaust sound great but get almost nothing performance-wise.

320 whp is probably possible but not with something you want to drive every day on the street, or pay to have built.

Another idea that hits two points is a lightweight flywheel. Reduces the driveline loss and the curb weight.

Which 100-cell cats are you running, and did you have any issue with CEL light?
I've seen Fabspeed's 200 Cell cats, what's better on an NA car 200 or 100?
