new stereo in the 996
Nice job! I'm looking to do something similar and don't understand how you were able to mount the amps behind the spare tire. Did you just get attach them to the front bulkhead and move the tire forward? I'd really appreciate a pic of the amps with the spare tire out if you have time to share that...
Thanks!

looks like you did a lot of work. i'd have never thought those 6.5" speakers would go in the door. it was clever to hide the amps behind the spare. did you put two 10" pioneers in the back or one? regardless, that's a sweet set up. if you're ever in austin, i'd like to hear it.

you talking about the wires to the amp? i havent finished cleaning everything up as i am still looking for where some noise is being induced....
besides that is all covered up by the spare, you cant even see the amps with the spare installed,

i actually bought the 6.5 before looking at the enclosures, car toys told me that if they would put 6.5 in there if they were to do it and it would require *minimal* trimming. boy were they wrong!
but i managed to force them to fit, considered making a custom fiberglass enclosure for the door, but decided i didn't wanna go through he work and managed to get them to fit in the stock enclosure, to be exact they are 6.8" speakers
and yes i have 2 10" subs in the back
iornman... I'm in Dallas too. I'd love to hear it! I have some pretty decent stuff i just took out of my old car and I will be doing something similiar in my C2. Let me know if you can meet sometime (although I have a ton of stuff going on this weekend). I'm in far north dallas.
it looks stock, the stock grills are covering it, you cant tell there are after market speakers behind there until you turn it on.....
I'm actually in Frisco, so i guess you would call that far north dallas.....

if anyone wants to meet just post up or email me maybe we can get a Porsche luncheon going on next weekend have a little Dallas meet up
Hey fellas. I'm selling my 996 Cab so I have my custom setup from car audio innovations for sale. Focal components for the front. Coxial in the back and 2 custom vinyl covered sub enclosures (8"s). Let me know if you're interested. Everything fits in the stock locations. I also have 2 JL audio ams and a carpeted amp rack that hides everything in the trunk.
