Explosion at Porsche Factory
Explosion at Porsche Factory
This info is a couple days old, but for those of you who have not seen it....
http://news.windingroad.com/plantsma...11-production/
Porsche reported today that its production of the 911 model will be on hold for between two and three days, due to a gas explosion in the spray-painting area of its main production facility in Zuffenhausen, Germany.
Reports indicate that the explosion caused two employees to suffer minor injuries, but no fatalities were incurred. The spray-painting unit and some other areas of the production system have been partially flooded, after water from the fire-extinguishing system covered the area.
At 160 911’s per day, Porsche stands to hold up a significant portion of the sports car supply. However the Cayenne and Boxster, both produced at facilities elsewhere in Europe, shouldn’t be affected by the accident.
