There are a few 986s that have logged around 200K miles. While most owners tends to drive them on weekends, it does not mean it can't handle regular DD duties. Keep in mind many owners have not hit the miles you are talking about so they are merely speculating.

If the price is right and records are available for review; take a shot and drive the snot out of it. If it averages 21K miles per year, it also means the car was logging an 80 mile round trip to work. 40 mile one way.
