I bought a cat. converter from a guy a few years back from an ad on Rennlist. He sent me a set of welded pipes - garbage. I tracked him for almost 2 yrs via his public speaking engagements and eventually got my money back. My point is this guy who cheated you probably will surface again - find him and remind him that he won't be rid of you until he pays. If he's in PCA, you or another car club, you can leverage that against him. Good luck.

Sorry to hear. I've been ripped off by two 6 speeders with PayPal. I stopped buying here for this reason. Just have to believe in karma.

Back in the day I would have made a big deal about it, but with them having all of my personal information, and the power of the internet, I decided to drop it. It just sucks that people have to be so dishonest.

update----
since the funds were a balance in my paypal account and not going through a credit card..the transaction did not "officially use a credit card" and therefore is not reversable.
Filed a report with my Police Dept...they contacted the Montreal Police who know of the individual ...and his passion for ripping off Americans...and declined to pursue the matter..
I AM OFFICALLY SCREWED ...lets move on.
Thanks to all for the help and advice..
anyone still up for just kickin ***???

^ or mail a box of dead fish...

Seriously, only use a CC for paypal transactions. This way if you get burned, you go straight to your CC company and get a chargeback.

FYI- your Visa debit check card is backed by Visa and you get the same protection with purchases as a regular CC. So, if you pay with a check card you are basically paying out of your bank account (for convenience) but with the charge back protection of a CC.

Sorry to hear the local cops are lazy-asses. Report this to the federal sources at the link I posted earlier. I guarantee they will have more success motivating the local cops.
