What Is Corner Balancing?

In the misc threads on PSS9's most members talk about having the car corner balanced after an install. What exactly is this and how is it done?

long story short, its a method of "fine tuning" a fully adjustable coilover suspension, by weighing all 4 corners of the car, and trying to get the weight distribution as even as possible all the way around

just had my Exige S done at WESTEND in Gardena, CA. their great!!!

Putting the same amount of weight distribution on each corner or at least across each corner such that the corner load is balanced. I had mine done at RUF in Dallas.

it's done by adjusting the ride height at each wheel to shift the weight around.

Wouldn't do it unless you really track the car hard... Save the $$$

Anyone every think about it that we corner balance with ballast on the driver side only? Now while you are on the track, you have a 200# passenger, hmmmmm...

Corner balancing is fine tuning after the rest of the suspension is pretty much dialed in.

hmmm.... I hear you and agree 100% on what benefits corner balancing has for a race track driven car, but I am still not convinced that a street driven car will get any real benefit from corner balancing, ok unless I have a big sub in the back and I weight 250lbs +..... but please convince me or explain what the actual benefit is on a street car w/o being 250lbs and w/o massive stereos, and I will do it.......... my car handles great with Pss9s and a 4wheel alignment currently - what will be different? This is not to start a riot...I really want to know

IMO. Pointless need to corner balance for a street driven car. Put a passenger in or some grocery bags and the 'balance' is all out of whack. Not that it matters since the Pcar will never see the handling limits on the street legally.

4 wheel alignment is all that is needed.
