I want to properly introduce myself to the forum. My name is AJ, im 23 living right now in Arlington, VA literaly steps away from DC and I just purchased my first 911 3 weeks ago. A week after buying it I had to travel to europe for business and have been there since. It will be just over another week before I see my 911 again and I absolutely can't wait.
Anyone in the DC area know where to wash a car? I tried looking around the first day I got there but found absolutey zero self-wash places.
I've already ordered some parts for it, battery maintainer, gt key conversion, and clear side markers. What are some of the best online retailers for parts and mods on these cars? I'm coming from the bmw community and looking for sites like bavauto.com and bimmian.com for cheaper-than-oem parts, exhausts and the likes.
and now....the car... 2002 911 C2 very well optioned

Welcome and congrats!
Get the K&N Intake, you'll love the sound.
Another great mod which lends to pure driving enjoyment is upgrade of the suspension.
I went with KWv3 coilovers and they are phenimonal, www.vividracing.com and some of our other forum sponsors have decent pricing.
Bilstein PSS9 / PSS10 are popular as well and cost a bit less.
Changing the front bumper for an Aero, Turbo or GT3 will give you better stability at higher speeds.
Inexpensive route to acheiving same is add a GT3 front lip spoiler to the underside of your OEM bumper. $230 part / 2-3 hours to DIY.

thanks for the tips p0rsch3..
The car is not 100% stock... it does have a short shifter (which feels amazing) an upgraded clutch, i know this because i have driven many 911's before buying this one and this clutch is almost on/off and very tiring on the legs in traffic. It also has a lightweight flywheel (at least im 90% sure thats what the chatter is in the engine when the clutch is engaged).
Also the suspension has had something done to is. Not sure what. As you can tell in the pics it sits a little lower than normal.
The dealer i bought it from didn't know the specifics of any of the parts there but the car feels and drives like a dream. Much better than all stock ones that i've driven.
As far as the K&N intake i hear mixed reviews on this forum. I do love the sounds of a good intake but don't want to negatively effect my engine anyway.
Where are some good places to get these bumpers? I love the look of the aero, are there non-oem replicas that may be a little more cost efficient somewhere?
Other than that I think im going to save my modding money to sc the car in the next year or so, unless i find a good deal on some used parts like mufflers etc.
How much in the K&N?

I think the only folks who have had issue with the K&N are those who did not install it correctly or over-oiled the filter (it comes pre-oiled so no need to mess with it). It's a really great intake and can't beat it for the price.
you'll get TONS of advice about SC here- there are several members who have this upgrade down to a science. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=123442
Read thread, PM some of the members with SC'd cars. We're a helpful bunch

Bumpers- ebay probably. get OEM or if a repro, make sure it is poly and NOT fiberglass.
I picked up an OEM GT3 RS bumper through ebay for $700. You can find used turbo OEM bumpers for about $500, keep an eye on the for-sale section of this forum and ebay.
The relatively cheap mod of adding the GT3 lip spoiler works really well, if you are going SC you may want to improve body aerodynamics for higher speeds.. with my old stock bumper it got a bit sketchy over 100mph since front is so light.

here's a polyurethane GT3 bumper on ebay, for example:

also saw a number of turbo bumpers listed for about $350

If you want to keep it simple, add an IPD Plenum (roadsportsupply.com) and a pair of FabSpeed mufflers (leave the cats in-place). For max performance, go SC and by the way...very nice car!

The plain OEM bumper does not get much downforce, It actually seems to let a lot of air under the bumper making the front end feel "light" and sketchy at high speeds.
If you get one of these bumpers it is highly recommended to get side skirts as well, the GT3 skirts look great and really add alot to the overall look. Aftermarket fiberglass is ok for the skirts (IMO) because they mount very solid and if they get damaged from a curb or speed hump it is cheap to replace. I got mine for $299 and they are FRP fiberglass, over 5k miles on them and no problemas...
A GT2 front and GT2 wing or Misha wing would probably look pretty bad *** on your car with satin-black Techart 19" rims

These wings to be found on ebay as well?
Do the sideskirts hang lower than stock?
and also what do u think of the IPD plenum maybe along with a K&N?
Wow, so much to do to this thing...

-Side skirts, yes they do hang down about an inch but it also improves the aerodynamics as well as the looks. I've included pics of my pcar before GT3 bumper and side skirts, and after.
-Plenum, I don't know first hand but I have yet to hear anything negative about it, seems to be the biggest HP gainer for the money. If u went with the plenum, K/N, Agency mufflers and a softronic ECU flash you'd be pretty damn set. If you want more ponies than that you'll have to go SC or buy a Turbo

Before skirts and new bumper (btw I have 15mm H&R wheel spacers on all four wheels, which pushes the wheels outward making it fill the wheel wells better):

Man that is nice. I like the wheel spacers as well. Very good taste man. I really like that bumper/skirts...def going to try to seek those down.

no worries- that's how we roll at the six.. I can't tell you how many members here helped me out when I first picked up my pcar, so I'm more than happy to pass on what little bit I now know.
You're gonna have a lot of fun fixing up the pcar, hang out and read through the forums and you'll pick up a lot of good tips and advice. another good site is www.renntech.org for techincal info. Join site, give a small donation to site "contributing member", get access to Porsche TSBs and tech guides straight from the Porsche tech manuals. Loren who runs the site is a stand-up guy and knows more than most about pcars.
www.automotion.com has a good price on the HR wheel spacers and longer bolts (you'll need wheel bolts that are 15mm longer).
PS- you'll need GT3 MKII skirts or front bumper for 02-04 pcars. GT3 MKI was for 99-01 pcars. Should help you with not buying the wrong parts
