Nope....not much you can do. 996s come pretty much maxed...Supercharger at 7-10K for about 100 hp boost. Chip/intake/headers/cats/mufflers MAY get you 30 hp if you get the EXACT combo correct, and will cost you about $3-4k....

IPD / RSS plenum? Heard that does add a few ponies.. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=98247

I picked up 10 RWH with my KN intake and Agency Exhaust, and added some great sound.

It doesn't look like that's an inexpensive task. I have read other posts regarding the exhaust. I may consider the exhaust upgrade.

One other thing, is the 0-60mph upper 4secs or low 5's. I keep getting conflicting info.

You have a 3.4l right?
The 3.6l cab is 0-62 mph in 5.0 ( so high 4's for 0-60 mph)

3.4l cab is 76 lbs lighter and 20 hp less then the 3.6 cab
so its probably pretty close in 0-60 numbers.

Inexpensive? Yes.
Boost in power? Um MAYBE. You may get 3-5 hp MAYBE.
Safe? MAYBE, MAYBE not. There are alot of CELs because of fouled MAF sensors....Some say its the oil in the K&N Filter....some say it isnt..but MAFS are not exactly cheap on a 996...so for 3-5 hp, why risk it????

^ have there really been a lot of instances of bad MAF attributed to the KN intake? I have not had a single issue with over 5k miles, and I read a lot of positive reviews before buying it.

Most of those guys are pointing fingers and finding something to blame. I had a foul MAF with stock intake. I have swapped out to a new MAF and also K&N at the same time with zero issues. It have been a few thousand miles and my K&N was really dirty. Cleaned and reoiled and still no problems after a few more thousand miles.
