How many RPMs do you guys rev to?

I just purchased my first Pcar last month and am still getting used to it. So far I have not hit 5K on the tach, nor have I been over 100 mph. (at least in the Pcar)

I just read a post from TAYNUT that said, "It happens to me when I am in 3rd under hard acceleration up and around 100mph."

Wow, 100 mph in 3rd gear!

What is the highest RPM you have ever had your car?

How high do you normally rev under daily spirited driving?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Joe

1 month ownership 800 miles (thank NE weather for that)

Commuting usually no more then 4500. Spirited 6500ish. Once close to 7k.

105mph so far for top speed. (it will be higher soon)

In order to make sure the rev limiter is working properly, you should bounce off it several times each time you drive the car.

I red line it all the time. I'm not worried cause I have a extended warranty just in cause stuff happens (RMS).

Yea, these guys are right, you are not going to hurt the motor! I don't make it a practice to hit the rev limiter but go to 6800 daily, just don't over rev on a downshift. These cars start making power above 4,000 rpm.

I agree...

Until I'm up to proper temp, I keep it below 4000...after that, all bets are off. Nothing beats 6800...one of my favorite places to be.

You've got to go for the redline, that is where the fun is in the power band. Of course, warm it up first...
