Kevin, car looks great, the mods are awesome and if others dont like, who cares, it makes u happy then do it...paint it, burn it whatever makes u happy i say. As for the comments made by "Ben", that is not constructive, thats just being a HATER. Ive read posts before made by him and usually with the same neg. tone. Kev-keep on modding, looks terrific.
- can u explain why in cali u dont have to have the plates at all, when i was in LA recently i noticed alot of people without plates and i was soooo jelous.

it's an obvious fact you're going to do what you do and along the same vein, i'm going to do what i do.

This is how you should've taken it in the first place like a grown adult instead of thinking i'm some hater or whatever. 1) hate is a strong word. 2) in the big scheme of things, i couldn't care less what you do with your car but if you post a pic of it online, sure i'm going to comment on it cuz that's the whole point of an online forum - is to type out what you're thinking 3) i don't go out and do the very things i critique cuz my c4s has got a killer look period.

i maintain that your front and rear bumper look no better than what a civic or jetta guy does to his/her car with aftermarket body parts (very kit car), but that's not a commentary on how you are as a person so don't take it personally. as for the others all piping in rallying around the sandbox... get a life dude.

peace,
ben

Kevin car looks great. Now if you were to put on all the turbo parts and add a C4S badge (note he still has the standard badge), that would be making it something that it is not. (such as what you say in your last comment 3) i don't go out and do the very things i critique cuz my c4s has got a killer look period) .Isn't that the same as your "GT2 look" spolier to your car and making it something that it isn't. right or wrong?

as for my car I can care less what he thinks. He is not into race/track prepped cars so be it. I enjoy it and the majority of people that see it enjoy.

wrong

and that's a predictable criticism laid on my car, but there's no denying that the fitment is true thanks to the good work of a 6speed sponsor and porsche fan misha at 996wings.com. the overall result is killer, cohesive, game over. Everything else is OEM.

and the design of this wing is drastically diff than the OEM GT2 wing. misha did a great job.

above all, thanks for not taking it personally bruce.

Ben,
The same could be said on the rear bumper of Kevin's car. It is not the same but the influence is from that car. Even though there are small differences from your wing, 95% of Porsche owners know that as the GT2 wing. All I am sayinig is that you bash on someone for doing that, and you do it. The attitude at times coming from you is as if you are better than anyone and you are always correct.

Your car looks good, but I appreciate all cars. I am glad you bought products from a 6speed sponsor,( my Parts are Factory Porsche Race products except my MISHA hood so what) but are you coming across that since your parts are from a 6speed sponsor it is better than Kevins?

He's putting on bumpers from a widebody car and stuffing it onto a narrowbody. You can clearly see in pics the bulbous result.

The Misha wing I put on was designed to fit the backs of the 997 and 996. Misha did the hard work to design it in a manner where the look is cohesive to the 911 body whether it be a wide or narrow.

I won't even go into the cost of it all for Kevin to go through the trouble of getting the new bumpers bought, painted, and his time to install it.

There's nothing you can say to convince me that this is good stuff. The result is far from good. And I appreciate all cars as well be it sports cars, gt coupes, trucks, econoboxes. I do not appreciate all that people do when they choose to modify their cars and it's clear I am not alone along this front. I am simply expressing my opinion.

As for your race factory parts, great. Care to share how much all of that cost with us (cost of parts, energy, time) and how much the market will appreciate the $ spend on your ride that we've seen locally on consignment at the Park Place dealership for $XX,XXX?

For full disclosure, my Misha wing installed cost me ~$1500.

Hey Kevin,

I think your car looks great!

I think the bright mesh attracts the eye which in turn detracts from the overall good look of the bumper.

Cheers,
Stan

Good for you so now it is about net return on investment (go try and sell your car). I do not know of anyone on this board or any other that has purchased a watercooled Porsche with the intention of making money on it. It is a car and a car by nature is a depreciating asset. Kevin did a nice mod to his car I commend him on a job well done. This thread has turned into something you would see on a ricer forum. Now I think we as a group should keep it positive.

i'm all for positive but not at the sake of not being able to share honest thoughts on the matter.

Thanks for the compliments! To answer your question about plates, don't get me wrong it does give them a reason to pull you over and check you out, however its just never really enforced, now if it was a beater car with no plates I'm sure their chances would increase, but new and exotics seem to get a pass, perhaps the cops are lazy.

Thanks Bruce!

Ben, your wing looks great on your C4S, very clean. I do have to disagree with your comment of putting a widebody bumper on a narrowbody car. Just like your wing was designed for your C4S, that bumper is aftermarket and fiberglass and made to fit my narrowbody cab, so I fail to see the difference from what you have done and what I have done?
Cost who cares about cost? If you really like to know, I stole it from a local guy on ebay for $250 brand new, had my friend that owns a body shop paint for $300, and installed it myself, not bad for $550 and a weekend of working on my car which I enjoy doing.

Lets all just get along, we all have the same taste in cars, just not the same taste in mods, my suggestion for Ben is just find a nicer way of stating your opinion, you attract more bees with honey then you do vinegar

Sounds like a plan, Kevin. Enjoy the ride and the AMG looks on point.

Do you honestly think I got this car, and built it the way it was done to figure out how to make money off it. Ben please tell me you are smarter than this

when did I ask you about the cost of product used?

If i am building something around making money it will be in a house. At that point you figure out your point of return and where upgrades will or will not make you money.

BTW: car is not on consingment at Park Place, it never has been

Cars are built for our own enjoyment. Alot of us make them for us to enjoy and other people to enjoy. My car was built for a street toy, but to tear up the track. When it comes down to it my car will outperform your C4S, but it was made that way.
