Caught me on an assumption. (Should not post during work)
Assumption:
Eric presents his without that disclaimer, thus assumed sourced new.

My view is done now......

yes so what i've been trying to learn myself is, if eric's badge isn't a refinished gold OEM badge, then porsche must be selling silver OEM badges? or is eric creating a completeyl new one thru is own vendor? i don't fully understand where these badges are coming from, who's making them.

i already bought a badge from eric but my gasket is kinda fuqed

I Just purchased a set consisting of Eric's front silver emblem and a silver rear 911 badge to match (email Eric for pricing). Eric has always stood behind his products. When I had a fit issue with my non smoker upgrade he immediatly sent me a new kit. I am not a big fan of paying a premium for a part just to support a specific vendor but good service, quality, and reliability is worth somthing. We each need to decide for ourselves what that is worth.

Well...AFAIK my silver badge was brand new and I did not have to give my "core" in exchange. Infact I sold my oem gold one on ebay immediately afterwards.

and Ben is right that I heard the same thing..Porsche does not make a silver badge or at least it does not anymore....so "someone" is getting them from "somewhere." right?

and yeah...assumptions are bad...we all know that right?
