Help - Car Wont Start

Hey guys. Im trying to search and im the LEAST car oriented guy out there. I went out to my car to start it and it wont start. It studders and hearing a tick tick sound from the engine. Also my trip mileage was reset to 0, and my clock went to 12 00. The windows act like they want to go down. Its weird I have no idea what it is. Could someone at least give me a lead, I had it out Mon w no problems and no CEL. Thanks

Absolutely sounds like a dead battery. These cars are not easy to jump start. If you try, there are two places to connect the chargers to-the battery itself and on the engine you will see a connection with a "+" sign - put the negative on the part of the latch attached to the body. Lastly, if this is the case, try Pep Boys or Autozone for a replacement. A lot less than the dealer. Bring your old battery to make sure that it is a perfect match. Good luck....

Yup - sounds like a battery on its last leg. If there is still some juice you'll be able to pop the hood open...if the battery is totally dead, then you gotta go to the fuse and pull out the + terminal from there and charge enough so that you can pop to hood

Depending upon the year, there should be a cable inside the front fender when you open the passenger door. You should be able to pull it and open the hood.

You can grap a new battery from Autozone. Make sure to get the same or higher cold crank amp. They open late. Actually, I don't even no where you live.

That blows, never happens at a convenient time does it? lol

You know what's funny, my manual hood latch cable is underneath the passenger's side headlight. How useless is that????

been there, done that, got the dead battery t-shirt. happened to me the day after a long fun run. in fact, the alternator died, the voltmeter showed severe battery drain, and I barely limped into the garage before everything shut down. the battery was so dead it would not hold a charge, and when it was jumped from a towtruck all of the electronics on the car started acting like the car was on lsd. even the spoiler deployed with the car dead in the garage. a new battery and alternator did the trick. re the battery, I've used Interstate for years and like them. the battery I replaced was a Napa, and probably put in by the previous owner of the car. good luck...

If you Jump start it you stand a chance of blowing the two fuses for the radio/amp. You have to remove the head unit to get to one of them!
