I don't know...

about the B&B version for the 996, but I can tell you that I think was one of the best mods on my 1989 Speedster (Both Sound and Power Band response).

Let us know what you think for I may consider it for my 2k2 Targa.

Good Luck!

i've heard it on the 996. it's kind of quiet. not a huge diff over stock. the owner complained that the tips were tarnishing.

I've got B&B headers & mufflers on my '99 C2. I did the mod about 4 years ago and have been very happy. The sound is much better than stock. I had a couple of people at track events ask me what exhaust I had because they liked the sound.

It feels like it added a few HP, but that's purely seat of the pants speculation on my part.

I use a metal polishing creme (Maas) on my tips every couple of months. They don't have a mirror finish, but they look darn good in my opinion. Requires a little elbow grease, but the results are worth it. (They might have switched tips since I bought mine...?)

I'd give B&B a thumbs up, but the FabSpeed sounds sweet too. PSE has a nice rumble also, but seems like a pain in the *** to install and the total cost (hardware & installation) could be rich.

Ditch the stock mufflers. Way too quiet and they weigh a ton. Any aftermarket setup will be a big improvement.

I had the Fabspeed on my 996 and loved it. I have a B&B on my 996TT and also like it. Bought the B&B because it was $1500 cheaper than the Fabspeed TT muffler.
