Corroded Battery Cable

A Porsche Dealer dianosed an electrical problem today as a corroded battery cable. It runs through the engine so to replace will require pulling the engine. Expensive!! Not one of my Porsche Car guys has ever heard of this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have never heard of that unless the insulation was cracked/corroded.

Petroleum Jelly is your friend on the the battery post.

hard to corrode the cable except the node. hope this is covered by warranty. keep a little battery terminal spray on stuff next time. it'll help avoid corrosion at least on the terminal.

Somethings not right here - the car's body can suppliment the ground. There needs to be another reason why the entire ground must be replaced.
