Finally have some pics of my car...waited until I had the rashed wheels R&Red and painted the rotor hats..the rust was just too embarrasing. Still needs a new front bumper cover, but I think, for the price it was worth it. Paid $32k w/37.5k miles on it, new (6k miles on them) front rotors, pads, & tires. Coolant tank replaced 6 months ago, with new Porsche coolant. 6sp, PSM, supple leather, with lumbar, heated seats, Comfort package, Technic package + CDC, rear wiper, 18" Carrera II wheels, plus matching leather airbag cover (that option was a ridiculous $1240..I have the original sticker). LF fender and front bumper have been repainted, but bumper had been backed into w/PO, hence the good price. Not horrible, but needs to be replaced. Already replaced the LCD climate control with the ebay one (had 2 dead segments), replaced the drivers side series resistor for the fan (cleaned out the rads & condensers at the same time. Every friggin drain vent was clogged with leaf debris and the radiators were pretty packed. No wonder the coolant tank failed.), put on the grey side markers and replaced all the yellow bulbs with silver ones that light yellow, removed all the airbag stickers, and added a current sense switch to use either iPod or CDC. Also replaced the wheel locks with new lug bolts, and put a new Bosch Premium Plus size 49 battery in. Removed, cleaned and polished the exhaust tips, removed the airbox (it was rattling, turns out it was not mounted properly, the rubber grommets were both in the wrong holes), and removed the rotting foam that was inside it. Cleaned TB and MAF. Put just over 1k miles on it in last 6 weeks, no oil use, no leaks, no crazy noises, except for the occasional creaking upper strut bearing noise. Comes and goes. Seems like the more I drive it the less it occurs.

Local (Mt Vernon) owner. 18 months earlier he had paid $51k at the dealer w/29k miles on it. I have over $5k in receipts from an indie he used for all the "work". All I have to say is "Beware AutoAuthority in NoVa". They charged him $393 for an alignment, $700 for the coolant tank replacement, and about $800 for the 30k service. The dealer charges less for all that!!! His reason for selling was he's in real estate and losing his shirt, and between the tickets and service costs, he just wanted to get rid of it. I was glad to oblige.
If I lower the car I will NOT be able to get in my garage, unless I pour a concrete buffer strip where the concrete "drive" (Hard to call 12 ft of concrete a driveway!) meets the asphalt. I clear it by 1/4" now. I figure I have to pour the concrete before the tires wear too much! Surprisingly I have over an inch of clearance, maybe more, where the angled drive meets the sidewalk. It's where the road meets the drive that is the problem. Does make it very easy to change the oil, though..I just back out of the garage and stop before the tires leave the garage pad, and the whole engine hangs out for easy access!!
