Question factory speakers

Recently my speaker, possibly right front/dash, has started to randomly make a noise. It doesn't matter if it's the radio or cd playing and it happens erratically, no relationship to weather, bumpy roads, etc.....
Any ideas, suggestions?

Thanks

Can you describe the noise, does the noise get louder with volume louder, does the noise stop with radio off.

Basically is it mechanical or electronic in nature ???

you may have cracked speakers if it buzzes at loud volume. which system do you have? Bose or regular? If it's regular, it's upgrade time.

Definitely electrical. Volume, bass settings, engine speed, weather, road surface, etc... do not seem to have any affect. Happens unpredictably, but almost daily.

Just swap it with one from the back and see if it stays there or moves. They are all the same. That will tell you if it is an amp/wiring or speaker issue.

One more thought. Could it be cell phone interference. Any GSM phone makes my system buzz and "brap" every time it polls the tower. Move the phone around, the volume of the noise changes. Real Pain in the ***.

iPhone will do it, it's an edge technology, mine did the same with my 2g. I upgraded to the 3G about 1.5 years ago and it never happened again.

Yes, a cell phone will make the speakers bizz in short bursts. just keep you cell away from the center tray holder and you should be fine.

Thanks - I was preparing to pull some speakers, check wiring, etc....
The tie in to the cell phone fits because it never happens to my wife when she drives it (different phone).

I've driven the car the past days and kept the iPhone away from the center stack and usually in the drivers door pocket and haven't noticed any more odd speaker noises. I thought I heard it very slightly once today when the phone was on the passenger seat.
Pretty amazing - Thanks for the tip!

Just FYI if anyone else is experiencing this issue:
I placed the cell phone in the cubby in the center stack and the speakers made a brappp sound, moved the phone to the seat and no noise.
Very interesting, but I'm relieved this was the cause.
