Fabspeed cold air intake

New to the site and had a few questions. Has anyone used or is using the Fabspeed cold air intake system?, pro's and con's, filter's BMC or K&N?

Thank you

do a search for this product, I know a lot of people having trouble fitting this intake in the car. There was a pro and con comparing the Evo to the fabspeed not to long ago. I have the evo intake and it fits easily. More expensive but a good product.

Fabspeed or Evo

FBM what type of air filter do you use with your intake?

I had the FabSpeed with a K&N filter on my 996 c2 for a few months. Can't say I could tell a huge power gain. Car just sounds a bit deeper. I felt riped off to tell you the truth. You get a stupid red tub, a few clamps, and a plastic CF looking air box plug for the amount of a little bit over $200. They could have at least make the plug out of real CF for that price. I sold the system for $60. Still have the K & N filter if anyone wants it.

I change to a K&N cold air system a few weeks ago. I'm very happy with this system. You could hear the airflow, feel the power gain, and for $275 you get a lot more then the Fabspeed system.

Is the K&N system CARB legal?, I want to put something on that I won't have to mess with. Does your K&N sytem draw air from inside the engine compartment?, thanks

Fabspeed system EXTREMELY easy to instal and yes it works. Do a search. Its minimal but its a gain. You pay for reasearch and development may seems cheesy but they thought of it not you. Plus search around theres ways to make your own if your handy : )

I understand and agree we should pay for the research, but dude, $200+ for a rubber tub and a plastic plug? Its like paying for a lap dance, but getting a pip show. all I'm saying is give me something that is worth the asking price. Make it using better parts. Make the air box plug out of real carbon Fiber instead of plastic and print carbon fiber patterns on it.

i have this. minimal change. i don't agree that this should be called a "cold air intake" kit. it removes the muffler in the stock air box and replaces the hose between the air box and the TB.

If you want a CAI, for ~$100 more, get the K&N.

I had the Fabspeed for a couple of months. Felt like it was the Schnell system for twice the money. Also removed it, sold it and just left the K&N filter in.
