19s with lowered suspension
I agree with the others. Your fit is entirely dependant on the offsets and right out of the box your wheels are working against you with improper offsets.
Stock 996NB wheels are;
Front 8.0 x 18 ET 45
Rear 10.0 x 18 ET 65
You are running
Front 8.5 x 19 ET 52
Rear 10.5 x 19 ET 52
This means your front wheels will be 13mm closer to the strut and will retract 1mm in from the fender.
The rears are the real problem as they will give you 7mm more inner clearance, but extend 19mm toward the fender.
If I were you I'd be pissed at the person who sold me the wheels. They will work, but they are far from ideal. The wheels are the reason you probably can't fit 285's or 295's in back.
Sorry but IMHO the wheels you purchased are just not right for the car.

I don't think you get it......
You are dealing with the off-sets of your wheels, the tires are not the BIGGEST issue here. . . .
Yes some tires are wider than others but it is clear here that it's an off-set issue you're dealing with here....
As someone else said here, they are running 305's on their car, no issues "WITH THE CORRECT OFF-SETS".... I'm running 295/30/19 Michelins but with the right off-sets.....

+1 - Offset is the key. Play around with the wheel offset calculator at http://www.1010tires.com/tech.asp
Or, just work with a good reputable wheel vendor and let them set you up properly. No fuss.
This PCNA article should answer most of your technical qustions about the various suspension upgrades from Porsche.
