19s with lowered suspension
19s with lowered suspension
Hi, I recently purchased 19'' wheels(8.5/10.5) with 235/35 front and 275/30 rear tires for my C2 99, and am interested in either X74 or M030. Did anyone try this setup? Would it rub on the liners..? any other issues?
thanks
thanks
It depends ENTIRELY on your offsets. I had 19x11 rears with 295 tires and NO rubbing and no fender rolling. Oh and I was quite low on PSS9s....275 tires is actually a little small since stock tire for 02+ were 285 on a 10" rim. If it rubs you have the wrong offsets.
I have 52 offset, 8.5 front and 10.5 back. and dealer said tire are the right size for MY99 Coupe.
so you think it would be a problem.

52 offsets should work but are not ideal for a narrow body 996. In the rear, the stocks are 10" and 65 offsets. I had 11" and 67 offsets on mine. 99s came with 265/30/18 but when you go to 19s its a whole different ball game so the dealer is a little off....there is no "right" size 19 tire. But a 275 on a 10.5 rim seems a little narrow (since 285s were used on stock 10" wheels on 02+), but its probably that way because the offset is a bit aggresive and to prevent rubbing thay put on a tire that has less width...
I searched and asked around for the right tire size for my99 C2 coupe, for my 10.5 rear wheels and they told me 275/30 19 for rear, today I installed them and the tire seems to be 3-4mm off the edge inwards.
Looks like I needed wider tires for these rims, but the installer said its ok.
Isn't it dangerous when your tires don't come to the edge? Please let me know as I dont know if its safe to take out my Porcha.

Sounds like you are kinda flying blind but......they will work.
On the 3-4mm comment....people do put that rubber on either 10 or 11J rears.
A pic would help us.....help you.
They are 52mm both front and back?
19s are not my cup of tea......though a do have them on some cars for bling (but not on a narrow body).
As for rubbing.....if the wheel width and aoffset is aggressive....then the factors that come into play are....ride height (is your suspension adjustable), suspension travel (is she firmed up with coil-overs) and then even healthy negative camber can allow you to avoid som fender prep.
BTW.......sites like TireRack have great info on tire-to-rim compliments.....as for offset, I advise seeing (pics or in person).....because everyone has their own opin.
